When you google top lists of beaches in Mallorca, the Es Trenc beach is almost always listed. It is Mallorca's most famous beach. It's a two kilometers stretch of white sand and crystal clear water. Since it was Mother's Day this Sunday, I got to choose what I wanted to do :) Se we went to Es Trenc. It is located on the south coast of Majorca (if driving, head for Colonia Sant Jordi). Our beach bags were packed and we were all excited. We found a parking that belonged to a restaurant, where the fee of 10 euros were deducted on the bill if you ate there. Awesome. But oh, we were so disappointed.. Maybe we came down the wrong stretch, but the sea was full of rocks and the white sandy beach was full of seaweed. In addition, the sun disappeared when we arrived. Maybe our expectations were a bit high, but it looked nothing like the pictures you get when you google Es Trenc. On top of that the restaurant was not very inviting, so we took a quick decision to go back to the car and the head back those 50 minutes to "our" beach in Illetas :) I didn't even take out my camera until we on the way back stopped at Flor de sal D'Estrenc. Where they make one of the many sea salts available here on the island. They also have a little shop with a mini café. That alone was almost worth the trip :)
Förutom salt köpte jag en fin liten salt skål // Besides salt i bought a nice little bowl for it. |
